School Uniform

We believe that children should look smart and take a pride in their appearance. We have an agreed dress code that has its basis in common sense, practicality and safety. Most items of uniform can be bought anywhere, but the jumper / cardigan and the PE shirt (both of which have the AJS logo) must be bought from our uniform supplier. This supplier is PMG Schoolwear in New Milton.

  • Grey ‘school’ trousers/shorts
  • White shirt
  • Black school shoes
  • School sweatshirt
  • Boys are not to dye their hair or gel it into inappropriate styles.
  • Hair should be cut into a short, neat style.
  • Boys should not wear jewellery.

  • Grey skirt or grey ‘school’ trousers
  • White shirt
  • Black school shoes
  • School sweatshirt/cardigan
  • Gingham blue dress (summer only)
  • Tights, if worn, should be grey, blue or black in colour
  • All girls should have their hair tied back tightly during the school working day if their hair is long enough to touch their shoulder.
  • Girls should not wear jewellery except for plain, small stud earrings which MUST be removed or covered for P.E.
  • No make up to be worn during the school day including nail varnish.
  • Hair should not be obviously or garishly dyed.

We have high expectations in sport and this includes kit and how children present themselves.  P.E. kit is:

    • Black P.E. shorts
    • T.Shirt in house colours (red, blue, yellow or green, available from the uniform shop.)
    • Trainers

During the colder periods, children should bring tracksuit bottoms and a tracksuit top or sweatshirt – we will go outside, if appropriate for the learning, at every opportunity!

Please note…

  • P.E kit should be in school every day.  This makes life less complicated and means that there is some flexibility for teachers.
  • All kit needs to be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
  • Earrings and jewellery are not allowed to be worn in school.
  • Hair accessories must be kept plain and simple.
