School Uniform

We believe that children should look smart and take a pride in their appearance. We have an agreed dress code that has its basis in common sense, practicality and safety. If you wish to make an adjustment to the school uniform because of religious or other reasons, please discuss this with the Headteacher first.

  •   Grey ‘school’ trousers/shorts/skirt
  •   White shirt/polo shirt
  •   Black school shoes
  •   School sweatshirt/cardigan
  •   Gingham blue dress
  •   Tights, if worn, should be grey, blue or black in colour
  •   School socks in either the colour grey white black or blueThe theme throughout the dress and appearance code is based on appropriateness for school and learning. We recognise that different people have different views of what is ‘appropriate’ and would ask you to bear the following in mind:
  • Hairstyles:
    •   Pupils should avoid extremes of hairstyles and hair should be grade 2 or above in length and not have patterns or ridges shaved into it.
    •   Children are expected to retain their natural hair colour. Hair braids and extensions are NOT permitted. If fitted during a holiday period, the braids should be removed before the

beginning of the new term.

  •   Hair accessories should be simple and minimal.
  •   Long hair must be tied back – especially for PE and Games
  • Jewellery:
  • Earrings can be worn. However, we ask that they are: o A simple studo Worn in the lobe and only one in each ear.
  •   Wristwatches can be worn to school but children do so at theirown risk.
  • Footwear:
  •   Trainers may only be worn for PE or games. They may be worn for playtimes but children must change into school shoes for lessons.
  •   For health and safety reasons, high-heeled shoes are not permitted.
  •   Open-toed sandals may only be worn in the summer months with socks.
  •   Remember when purchasing shoes for your child that we are expecting them to be running around and playing. Are they practical?
  •   Children are not allowed to wear boots. If the weather is very bad they can wear boots to school, but they must change into school shoes once inside.

  • PE Kit:PE kit is part of the school uniform. We have high expectations in sport and this includes kit and how children present themselves. PE kit for both boys and girls is:
  •   Black PE shorts
  •   T-Shirt in house colours (available from the uniform shop)
  •   Trainers / plimsolls
  • PE kit to be worn into school on your child’s assigned PE days.Uniform can be purchased from PMG schoolwear In addition the schools runs a preloved uniform shop with branded and non-branded goods at discounted prices.
