PTA
If you are a parent or carer of a child at the school, or a member of staff, you are automatically a member of the Parent-Teacher Association.
What is a PTA?
A PTA is a Parent Teacher Association, an organisation with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn. AJS PTA brings together parents, teachers and children to raise funds and strengthen the school community. Money raised is usually spent on things that the school budget does not cover.
Why should I join one?
There are many reasons why you should join your PTA. From making new friends and getting to know the school environment, through to helping raise much needed funds and making a difference to the children and school community. All of these things help you grow in confidence as a parent and it feels good to know you are making a difference for your children and for generations to come.

Who's Who
At the moment the committee is very small and we really need more parents and carers to get involved. We normally have lots of people who come along to events to help on the night, which is wonderful, but we need more people who can help set up and plan these events in advance.

If you have an idea for an event that you would like to suggest, please come along to one of our regular PTA meetings.
Ashley Junior School PTA work throughout the school year to ensure events and fundraising activities are organised and supported for the Children and families of Ashley Junior School.
Fundraising activities organised include the Smarties Challenge, Christmas Raffle, Movie Night, Easter Bingo and Raffle, Doughnut Fridays, Discos and Regular Ice Cream Sales.
Events held last year raised £4682.58. This amazing total to date has enabled the purchasing of much-needed items for the students of Ashley Junior School. Our recent purchases include:
- Musical instruments
- Sports jackets for Team Ashley
- Playground benches and equipment
- Stage Lighting
- Supporting school trips
- Year 6 leavers T-Shirts
- Outdoor Quad Landscaping
